 
Installing a Kitchen Faucet
Kitchen sink faucets are made on 8" centers and are available with or without the spray/rinse hose attachments. If you plan to use a spray/rinse, be sure your sink has a faucet hole to accommodate the spray hose. Kitchen faucet are available with connections to accommodate threaded, soldered or compression type supply lines. A typical hookup is shown in Figure 1 below. Concealed deck types and 8" exposed deck type are available in two designs. A single handle control type is also available and is probably one of the most popular types out today. Installation for kitchen faucets is basically the same as for bathroom lavatory faucets as shown below. 
Installing Kitchen Sink StrainersStrainers should be installed before the sink is installed following these steps. (1) Thoroughly clean around drain opening in sink.
(2) Apply 1/8" bead of plumbers putty around drain opening approximately 1/2" from edge of opening. (3) Remove nuts and washers and place sink strainer body through opening. (4) From the underside of the sink place rubber washer and thin paper or (metal) washer over large threads. Then screw large metal nut tightly against the washers.
(5) Complete the installation by further tightening the large metal nut using a spanner wrench or nut wrench or hammer and screwdriver. When installing a new lavatory it's easier to install the faucet and drain before installation. If you are replacing an old faucet, then figure 3 will be helpful in removing the old faucet. In either case refer to the specific manufacturers installation instructions packed in with the faucet you just purchased. 1) Place gasket (A) on top of lavatory and place plumbers putty around gasket. Set faucet in place. (2) Install pop-up lift rod (G) through hole in rear of faucet (3) Install mounting washers (B) then thread hex nuts (C) (some can be plastic or metal) onto the faucet shanks and, after positioning the faucet, tighten mounting nuts firmly. (4) Save the supply nuts (M) for attaching the supply line. Installing the Pop-Up Assembly(1) Remove locknut (F) , fiber washer (D) and the rubber washer (D) from the strainer plug (A) Place plumbers putty around the bottom of the flange of the strainer plug. (2) Place strainer plug in drain opening of lavatory. Replace rubber washer (D), fiber washer (E) and locknut (F) on strainer plug (A). (3) Thread remote control drain tee assembly (B) on strainer plug (A) with the pop up opening toward the back of the lavatory. Tighten the locknut (F) on strainer plug (A). (4) Remove ball lever knob (L) from pop up assembly (B). Place ball lever knob (L) over ball lever rod (J) from the rear. Insert ball lever rod (J) into opening of the pop up assembly and tighten ball lever knob (L) (nut).
